About
Pocket Amber started as a group chat where four friends kept sending each other odd little games nobody else was talking about. At some point the recommendations got too good to keep private, so we turned them into proper write-ups. That's still the whole idea: find the games that slip past the big charts and tell you what it actually feels like to play them.,We're independent. Nobody pays us to like a game, and we don't run pre-written press copy dressed up as a review. Everything you read here comes from someone on the team actually holding the phone, thumbs on glass, usually for a lot longer than we planned.,How we pick: we look for a clear idea done well, controls that respect a touchscreen, and something that keeps us coming back on the bus or in a queue. Genre doesn't matter. A tidy racing game and a slow puzzle box get the same attention.,If a game bores us, we say so and move on. If it grabs us, we tell you exactly why. That's the deal.
