Strategy
Ironline Command
★★★★★ 4.5
Ironline Command strips real-time strategy down to what matters: reading the map, spending scarce resources, and knowing when to fall back. You're always slightly outnumbered, which turns every skirmish into a puzzle rather than a slugfest.
The touch controls are the best I've used in the genre — a quick tap-and-drag to send units, a two-finger pinch to zoom, and a pause button that lets you plan mid-fight without cheapening things. It respects that you're playing on glass, not a keyboard.
Missions are short enough for a lunch break but the campaign builds cleverly, drip-feeding new unit types just as you get comfortable. It's the kind of game I kept thinking about after I'd closed it.
What we liked
- Genuinely good touch controls for RTS
- Every mission is a tense resource puzzle
- Bite-sized missions inside a smart campaign
